Weapons
What was the most powerful weapon given to the church? Was it the Holy Scriptures? If so, why? If not, what is?
"O God of earth and altar, Bow down and hear our cry, Our earthly rulers falter, Our people drift and die; The walls of gold entomb us, The swords of scorn divide; Take not Thy thunder from us, But take away our pride." - G.K. Chesterton, "O God of Earth and Altar"

Consider:
It is the source of:
Faith (Rom. 10:17)
Belief (John 20:31)
Hope (Rom. 15:4)
Comfort (Psalm 119:52)
Most importantly, it is the most powerful weaponry we have been given to initialize our freedom from sin (John 8:32) and recieve the Spirit (Gal. 3:2). It is the perfect weapon (Psalm 19:7), and our very spiritual lives depend on it (Deut. 32:46-47). As Luther put it, "my conscience is captive to the word of God...for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe.
