Ice Age?

Do you think there ever was an Ice Age? I am inclined to think there never was based on Genesis 8:22 "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease." God gave this promise to us through his covenant with Noah and it seems like to me that a prolonged period of God would run counter to this verse. Any thoughts?

Inevitably, I think you will have to deal with the creation story and the age of the earth before you get to the bottom of this. My two cents: (I should also state up front that I stand behind the literal 6-day creation and a "young earth"), it seems that if an "ice age" would have occured (and people survived) we would have significant recorded "documents" of it. I would also assume that an ice age would have a similiar effect on the human race as the flood did, and that this would go unrecorded in Scripture seems unlikely.

How then do we account for mamouths that are discovered with grass still in their mouths and bellies? Something had to freeze these things and freeze them quickly.
